Background:
Tysons Galleria, is a 900,000 sq. ft shopping, dining and hotel complex. Among the more than 120 retail outlets are the world’s most luxurious retailers - Burberry, Cartier, Chanel and Versace, as well as boutiques for Lacoste, Thomas Pink, Eileen Fisher and Stuart Weitzman.
GGP, Securityhunter’s client since 1993, wanted to enhance the facility’s security. Prior to 2003, the Galleria operated without a video surveillance system. The client was seeking to integrate a comprehensive video and emergency communications system for the mall and parking garage.
System Highlights:
Securityhunter installed nearly 50 high resolution color cameras, mostly pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) units, a digital recording network, a fiber optic network infrastructure and an extensive emergency phone system throughout the facility. A security command center was created to enable security personnel to monitor suspicious or emergency situations. Pelco, Panasonic and Talk-a-Phone technology was integrated into one system.
