Securityhunter, Inc. held its first Company Retreat and Team Building at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Ocean City, Maryland from November 10 – 12, 2016. As Securityhunter continues to grow, Founder and CEO, Michael S. Rogers felt it important for the Team to gather away from the office for a company retreat and so he asked his administrative assistant, Dana Ashton to plan an event that would allow the Team to not only get to know one another but an event that would show us ways to work more effectively as a Team. Dana and Mike began considering locations for the event and settled on the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Ocean City, Maryland. They also chose the date of November 10th through 12th because it included a federal holiday and the government would be closed, allowing us to focus on the team building. They also decided that employees would be allowed and encouraged to bring family members to participate in the general session and learn more about Securityhunter’s goals and visions for the years to come. Events included a welcome reception for team members and their guests, updates on the focus of Securityhunter by the CEO, President, and Board of Directors, team building activities for the staff, an awards banquet, and lots of food and fun.
One of the highlights of the event was our awards banquet where we honored our veterans and watched videos of persons who have been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Special recognition was given to Program Management Support Specialist, Patricia Feurer and IT/Network Specialist, Benjamin Globus, who received the honor of Employees of the Year. Some new friendships were established and some strengthened. Retreat planner, Dana Ashton says, “I had a great time planning the event and was very pleased with the outcome. Everyone participated fully in the team building activity and all in all, I believe we’re stronger because of it. I can’t wait until the next one”. Planning has already begun for the 2nd Annual Securityhunter Retreat and Team Building Event that will be held in November 2017. Location? TBD
