Securityhunter, Inc., located in Baltimore, Maryland, promotes Ross Nelson to position of Executive Director Michael S. Rogers announced his retirement in December 2017 and returned May 1, 2018 as CEO. Spending almost a year, making the company whole again, Mr. Rogers kept his goal of retirement at the forefront of his mind, planning to step back and pass the reins of leadership to another, allowing him more time for Strategic Market Planning. Subscribing to the notion we should “feed ourselves first”, Mr. Rogers began looking within Securityhunter to find one who would step into the role of Executive Director and found Mr. Ross Nelson. No stranger to the company, Nelson has been a Securityhunter since May of 2012. He brings not only his military experience, but also 15 years of experience in the electronic security industry. Mr. Nelson has a proven success record managing complex government programs, recruiting and managing subcontractors and vendors, recruiting and managing talented staff members and creating strategic teams and contracts to accomplish specific goals for Securityhunter’s federal clients.
Mr. Nelson has also been key in winning several major contracts. “Securityhunter has both a team and a mission that is perpetually exciting to be a part of. After all this time, I’m still excited every day to be a part of it. I’m very proud of our team and I’m honored that the Chairman and the other board members would allow me to lead it. It’s not always going to be fun, but it is definitely going to be one hell of a ride” says Nelson about the new position. When asked about the reason he chose Nelson, Mr. Rogers said, “Ross Nelson brings a unique set of strengths to the role of Executive Director. He is skilled as a technician, experienced as a program manager, and proven as a leader and dedicated Securityhunter.”
He added, “When I wanted to choose someone to lead the company, it was vital for me to look for a leader who would make tough decisions and put themselves in harm’s way again and again – for the company. I continuously see that rare quality in Ross and I know he was the best choice”.
